What I have learned from 2016

I always like to reflect on the year that has gone past before I can even think of anything about the year I am away to head into. This year will go down for as a brilliant year. The absolute highlight for me was finally seeing the Northern Lights when I visited the Arctic Circle this February. I said it before and will say it again it was and most likely will be the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. It was breathtaking. And for me what I learned was the experience of going there on my own was priceless. I genuinely, even know am so pleased this was my experience and my experience alone. I had so many people as me why I would go alone but actually it was such a personal thing to me and it was my major early birthday present to myself for such a great birthday.

This year for me it has been the start of an ongoing process of taking care of myself. I got a personal trainer to help me get fitter, I went to pottery classes which was brilliant but most importantly 2016 was the year of finding myself. Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t lost but I started to realise what a great friend to myself I can be. I think and feel this will absolutely carry onto 2017 but it’s so important to have a great relationship with yourself, when you do it reflects into everything else in your life. I had so many wonderful experiences for myself, with my dear friends and with my family all of which leaves me leaving 2016 feeling truly blessed and looking forward to all the fun that 2017 will bring.
