I wanted to share with you two very different foundation bases I have been really enjoying of late. I mentioned the first on in my February favs which you can read here if you missed it. It’s the new base from Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue in 21 Beige. This is a heavier base than what I believe Chanel normally produce and I love it. It does have that strong flowery scent that I have come to know and recognise from Chanel so if that’s not your bag you might want to head to a counter first to see how you feel about it.
It didn’t oxidise on me which is a bonus. I put this foundation on with a damp blending sponge and that seems to work well. It is full coverage but in the way that Chanel have managed it doesn’t feel heavy or cakey on the skin. It lasts a day and the only touching up I had to do was to take shine off every so often. I have been really enjoying using it and the colour match is good, maybe I would go for the next colour up but on the whole I would go for the slightly lighter shade and bronze up if needs be.
I love that Chanel has provided a pump – hello easy travel. The packaging is classic Chanel glass bottle. I would if your looking for a foundation to see you through the day pop along to a Chanel counter and try it for yourself.
Now with March finally here I start to move to lighter bases, especially at the weekends. I want my skin to been seen. I normally have really good skin but over the last month I have had a few spots – boo so I’ve been a bit reluctant to move to a lighter base but when I do its this one below that I have been really loving.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur in Light/Medium. I have never ever tried anything before from La Roche-Posay, I have heard many a blogger loving this brand but just never gotten round to trying anything until now. There is nothing I don’t love about this BB Blur. It says ‘Instant oil-absorbing coverage cream mousse. Blurs the look of pores and covers blemishes. Absorbs oil all day long, for matte even skin.’
This reminds me of Maybelline Mouse that I loved it has that light bubbly air feel yet provides a lovely base. It does seem to absorb excess oil with is another tick for me. I just think this is the perfect weekend base. The fact it has a SPF is another tick for me. As I get older SPF is a big factor in anything I put on my face and body. I get that might be alien to anyone who knows I live in Edinburgh, Scotland but just because we are not bathed in constant sun does not mean that your skin doesn’t need protected in fact the opposite is true.
Both bases can be purchased in Boots.
